Stephanie Tharp has over twenty years of experience in customer-focused team, project, and program leadership with extensive experience in military communications and networking programs, as well as Agile systems development
As Sigma Defense Vice President of Programs, Stephanie leads the execution and delivery of complex programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, contract compliance and customer satisfaction. As part of this effort, she is also responsible for driving new growth opportunities, developing and executing strategic plans for the Innovative Mission Solutions (IMS) Division and aligning with company objectives for long term growth.
Stephanie Tharp joined Sigma Defense after serving as NAVWAR’s Senior Advisor and Acting Director of Logistics and Fleet Support (4.0), where she advised the Executive Director and led key efforts shaping the command’s strategic vision. Prior to this, Ms. Tharp held leadership positions at GDIT and Northrup Gruman. As Director of Navy and Marine Corps Growth at GDIT, Ms. Tharp was instrumental in advising new opportunities and relationships crucial to the Navy and Marine Corps missions. At Northrop Grumman, Ms. Tharp was responsible for a $3B pipeline and realized the award of key contracts with the USAF and JPO. Ms. Tharp has served as JPO’s F-35 ALIS and ODIN Portfolio Director, leading the agile SW Delivery and program management transformation, reducing HW footprint by ~60%, and improving system usability and efficacy, while leading a 150+ personnel team and managing a yearly budget of ~$350M. Ms. Tharp also held numerous Critical Acquisition Positions (CAP) Key Leadership Positions (KLP) across NAVWAR, including PMW-160 / PMW-120 Product Support Manager and 4.3A Supply Chain Division Head, leading teams of 75+ personnel and budgets of $45M+ annually.
Stephanie holds a bachelor’s degree in political science with an emphasis on law and her master’s in management from Harvard University’s Extension Division. She also holds Fleet training and Industry certifications, including Security +, Aviation Ordnance Officer’s Career Progression (AOOCP) training, as well as various Agile and CPI certifications. Ms. Tharp has held NDIA and AFCEA Board and Chair positions and has received numerous awards including ASN(RDA) Acquisition Innovation Award and the Malcom Laswell Award.
